A catch-up with Daniel, ALEBA Delegate for Safety and Security, on vision and hearing tests

As part of his role as Safety and Security Delegate at Quintet Private Bank, Daniel Heymann has introduced a new visual and auditory screening offer in partnership with Optical Center. He shares the reasons behind this initiative, how it was carried out, and future prospects.

Why was this initiative launched?

An annual eye check is required by the banks' collective agreement (CCT).

Until recently, this was provided by ASTF.

Their withdrawal from this service meant we had to find an alternative.

Since prevention is very important to me, I did some research and eventually identified a new partner, Optical Center, who agreed to continue offering these tests.

In addition to eye exams — a nice bonus for all colleagues — Optical Center also offers hearing tests!

It's a truly comprehensive offer, which is great for everyone.

How were the tests conducted?

The tests were organised once a month, every second Monday, directly at the bank's premises.

An Optical Center van came on-site, allowing staff to undergo vision and hearing exams in a convenient and professional setting.

Who was this initiative for?

The tests were open to staff from both Quintet and KTL.

Over 200 colleagues took advantage of the opportunity, demonstrating the relevance and interest in the initiative.

What feedback did participants give?

I'm pleased to say the feedback was very positive.

Colleagues especially appreciated the addition of the hearing test, as well as the quality of the eye exams, which were considered more thorough than in previous years.

Results were shared individually, and those needing correction could visit the Optical Center store just 130 metres from the bank.

Special offers were also made available to employees and their families, enhancing the appeal of the programme.

Will this initiative be repeated?

The tests have now entered a “business as usual” phase and are carried out directly at the Hamilius store. That said, I don't rule out the possibility of organising future sessions with the van, depending on needs and opportunities.
