ALEBA National

ALEBA at the national level

We are Quintet's staff delegation, elected by our colleagues to represent them within the bank. As ALEBA members, we form the ALEBA Quintet section and are part of the national ALEBA union, active across Luxembourg's financial centre for over a century.

Here's who ALEBA is at the national level, what it stands for, and why joining actually makes a difference.

Why join ALEBA

Fully independent

Funded solely by members' contributions, ALEBA answers to no political party and no employer. Its only accountability is to its members.

The ALEBA method

Rather than one-size-fits-all answers, ALEBA relies on individual listening and social dialogue to drive lasting change.

Real legal advice

Labour law, social law, tax law: delegates and the national team answer concrete questions, not just theory.

Legal defense, covered

After 12 months of membership, ALEBA covers your legal defense in disputes with your employer or a social institution.

Strength in numbers

Every new member adds weight to ALEBA at the negotiating table — for you, and for every employee in the sector.

Real everyday perks

Partnerships, discounts, mutual insurance, ALEBA Youth: membership brings tangible benefits beyond the workplace too.

A century-long history

Founded in 1918 as ALEB (Association Luxembourgeoise des Employés de Banque), ALEBA originally represented banking-sector employees before becoming a fully independent union in 1978.

In 2005, it gained official recognition as a nationally representative union. In 2023, it widened its scope to all private-sector employees in need of representation, well beyond finance alone.

A mission, and values

ALEBA defends a simple conviction: social progress happens when employees are heard, respected, and involved in the decisions that affect them. Five values guide its day-to-day action: independence, humanity, expertise, determination, and dialogue.

A structured organisation

Syndical board, executive committee, board of directors, thematic commissions, council of elders, mutual fund, social club: ALEBA runs on a solid structure, built to last and to represent the full diversity of its membership.

Services that make a difference

Legal advice, free assistance after one year of membership, training for delegates, mutual insurance, partner discounts, the MyALEBA member portal, the ALEBA Youth programme for younger members: membership unlocks a full set of services designed to support every stage of your working life.

Convinced?

At Quintet, joining ALEBA goes through the Section — with extra perks, like the sponsorship programme.
