A few highlights from life at the ALEBA Quintet Section.

A dynamic ALEBA team at Quintet

The ALEBA Section, with close to 300 members at Quintet, has also been extremely active: distributing warm fleece jackets to all staff, regular well-being focused conferences, tax workshops and support filling in tax returns, presentations of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, a food truck to encourage contact and networking between everyone, sending flowers to colleagues on long-term sick leave, welcoming new joiners and sponsoring new members, and even setting up shoe-shining stations and bike pumps.

An experienced ALEBA union delegation

Always the majority within Quintet's Staff Delegation, the ALEBA Section is present, through its delegates, at every level of staff representation within the Bank: Management/Delegation, European Works Council and Board of Directors. Since 2019, throughout the outgoing term, ALEBA delegates have been your eyes, your ears and your voice within these bodies.

Analysing financial results, proposing new regulations, discussing the internal organisation of the business and the company, the Group's development, what's working well but also what can be improved, and so on: there has been no shortage of work. And, of course, your ALEBA delegates have always used these meetings as an opportunity to raise your questions and concerns with Management.

Your ALEBA delegates' experience is the best guarantee for protecting your rights and interests at Quintet, as well as your social and financial benefits, in the face of a Management team that is often renewed and a shareholder, Precision Capital.

ALEBA delegates are also best placed to offer you help, advice or assistance with individual issues you may face, whether professional (evaluations, classification, conflicts with management) or personal (tax, study grants, pensions, and so on).

ALEBA: the leading union in the financial sector

ALEBA has close to 10,000 members and is by far the leading union on the Luxembourg financial marketplace. In November 2019, at the last Staff Delegation elections, ALEBA won the trust of the majority of voters in the financial sector, electing more than 700 delegates across banks and insurance companies.

ALEBA also holds 4 of the 8 seats in Group 4 of the Luxembourg Chamber of Employees.

ALEBA has earned this massive trust, both at the Chamber of Employees and within companies, through open, honest, transparent and constructive union work, as well as through its strict independence from any political party — a principle it has upheld since 1918.

Behind ALEBA is a strong structure and teams who work extremely competently and diligently to effectively defend the interests of every employee in the financial sector, by negotiating the Banking Collective Bargaining Agreement (which benefits everyone, whether union members or not, employees covered by the agreement or managers), company agreements, or — more unfortunately — social plans. Every day, ALEBA's legal experts also step in to individually advise and guide employees facing difficulties.

ALEBA's national 2024-2029 election programme is built around 5 themes: employment, purchasing power, workers' rights, collective agreements, work-life balance, equality & diversity, and the financial sector.

At Quintet too, the ALEBA Section will make sure it is implemented.
