Privacy & GDPR

Our commitment

The ALEBA Quintet section takes the protection of personal data seriously. This page describes, clearly and transparently, the data collected on this site, its purposes, where it is hosted, and how to exercise your rights.

The data we collect

We only collect what is strictly necessary, and only when you decide to provide it:

  • News subscription: your email address, the language you chose for emails, and whether you have confirmed your subscription. Nothing else — no name, no postal address.
  • Event registration: your first name, last name and email, the event concerned, and the language of the page used — to send you a confirmation and, if needed, notify the organising delegates.
  • “Like” on an article: a simple, fully anonymous counter — no data is tied to your visit.

We never ask for your date of birth, a national ID or social security number, banking details, or any other sensitive information.

No trackers, no advertising

This site uses no audience-analytics tool (no Google Analytics or equivalent), no advertising, and sets no tracking cookies. Public forms (newsletter, event registration) are protected by a simple invisible honeypot field — no reCAPTCHA or third-party service that your data would be shared with. Only the admin area, reserved for the ALEBA team, uses a technical login cookie; it does not concern site visitors.

Where your data is hosted

We chose reputable providers, with the database hosted in Europe:

  • Database: Neon, hosted in Frankfurt (Germany, European Union).
  • Site and server-function hosting: Vercel Inc. (United States), on a global infrastructure.
  • Email sending (confirmations, newsletter): Infomaniak, a Switzerland-based provider.

None of this data is sold, rented, or shared for commercial or advertising purposes.

How long we keep your data

A newsletter subscription is kept until it is cancelled: every email sent contains a one-click unsubscribe link, which permanently deletes your address. An event registration is kept for as long as needed to organise the event, then archived for tracking our union activities.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may at any time:

  • request access to the data we hold about you,
  • request its correction if inaccurate,
  • request its deletion,
  • object to its processing, or withdraw your consent,
  • request the portability of your data.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at info@aleba-quintet.lu. We reply as promptly as we can.
