Victory: the loyalty bonus indexed!
By Laurent Mertz · 27 October 2026
Last June you could read on your website aleba-quintet.lu the very clear position of national ALEBA, but also of your ALEBA Quintet Staff Delegates, regarding the calculation and payment of the Loyalty Bonus to be paid to employees covered by the Collective Agreement with the June 2026 salary. For its part, Quintet Management had indeed indicated that it would follow the ABBL's recommendation to pay the Loyalty Bonus without taking into account the 2.5% index-linked increase coming into effect on 1 June 2026, thereby depriving employees of an amount that was sometimes significant.
For your ALEBA Quintet Delegates, this situation, which we considered legally unacceptable and deeply unjust, could not be left as it was. This is why our ALEBA section held firm and began discussions with Human Resources, and it is thanks to these exchanges that Management finally conceded the adjustment, in the interest of all parties and out of a concern to maintain constructive social dialogue in the context of the important issues linked to the strategic plan.
Specifically, if you are affected by the Loyalty Bonus, this adjustment corresponds to the difference resulting from taking into account the 2.5% index-linked increase that came into effect on 1 June 2026. You can find this amount on your October payslip under the heading "exceptional bonus".
This is a victory for the Staff Delegation, but it is also, and above all, a success for our ALEBA fraction at Quintet! We are proud to have held firm and defended our position, in the interest of Quintet's unionised staff, but also and especially towards the nearly 300 ALEBA members at the bank. We were ready and organised to defend your rights before the courts, had that been necessary. We regret that there was no commitment or support from the other unions, either at the level of Quintet's Staff Delegation or at the national intersyndical level, for various reasons that were in any case rather lacking in courage.
In any case, our ALEBA fraction remains committed to continuing to defend your rights and interests, whether you are covered by the Collective Agreement or not, while thanking you once again for the trust you place in your ALEBA union!
Find all your ALEBA Quintet Delegates, as well as a reminder of our advantageous "sponsorship" initiative, in the flyer distributed to your desk this Tuesday morning, 26 October, along with the 2027 calendar, which also includes all school holidays, a handy tool for organising your year!
